COVID-19: The great poet Rahat Indori died

Eminent poet Rahat Indori died on Tuesday due to COVID-19. He tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to Aurobindo Hospital in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday.

According to  Rajeev Singh, COO of Sri Aurobindo Hospital, Indori was admitted to the hospital on Monday night. “He was shifted from a private hospital to Aurobindo and his condition was critical. He breathed his last between 4.15 pm and 4.30 pm."

The hospital staff informed his family members about his demise.

Indori had undergone COVID testing after experiencing the initial symptoms of the disease. In his last tweet, he appealed to the people to pray for his health so that he can win over the disease.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also tweeted about his health and wished him to get well soon.

His fans were shocked after being informed of his infection and hospitalization.

Indori wrote many poems and was a famous Urdu poet. Recently, his poem calls 'Bulati Hai Magar Jaane Ka Nahi….'  became an inspiration for many meme makers amid the epidemic and social disturbances.

The 70-year-old poet was born on 1 January 1950 in Indore. He did his schooling from Nutan School and graduated from Islamia Karimia College, Indore. He also did his Ph.D. In Urdu literature from Bhoj University in Madhya Pradesh.

Indori also acted in Kapil Sharma's show twice and was globally famous for his Urdu poems and mushairas.

Rahat Indori was a celebrity in the style of Urdu Shayari and also wrote lyrics for several Bollywood songs. He wrote songs for the films 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S', 'Murder', and others.
