Corona positive was one of the 18 passengers killed in an Air India Express flight that crashed while landing at an airport in Kozhikode, Kerala. The plane was coming from Dubai. The Kerala government on Saturday announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased after an accident occurred while landing an Air India Express aircraft on the runway of the Karipur International Airport. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan told reporters after a high-level meeting here that around 18 people died and 149 are being treated in various hospitals in Malappuram and Kozhikode districts. Governor Arif Mohammad Khan also attended the meeting.
Vijayan told reporters, "The state government has decided to give compensation of ten lakh rupees to the family of the deceased. The state government will bear the medical expenses of those who are undergoing treatment. The Chief Minister said that out of the 18 people who died, 14 are adults and four are children.
Vijayan said, "There are seven males and 14 females among 14 adults." Currently, 149 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Malappuram and Kozhikode districts, of which 23 are in critical condition. "He said," Earlier 23 people were discharged from hospitals after giving first aid. " '
On Friday night, the plane coming from Dubai, with 190 passengers and crew members, slipped off the runway and fell into a 35-foot-deep moat while landing. The aircraft was split into two.
