India has consistently opposed CPEC as it passes through Pakistan occupied Kashmir. However, China has put a lot of money and resources into the infrastructure project, ignoring objections. CPEC is a hindrance to the relationship between Beijing and New Delhi. China sidesteps India's concerns by saying that it is only an economic project.
This message from Xi was released after a strategic dialogue between the China Pakistan Foreign Ministers. The talks between the foreign ministers of China and Pakistan took place on Friday in the Hainan province of southern China.
